If you home or business is more than 20 years old and has never had an electrical panel upgrade, it may be time to call a San Diego electrician out to look at it. Computers, convection ovens, and solar panels are just a few of the modern appliances that may be overloading your current electrical panel.
What Type of Electrical Panel Upgrade do I Need?
A 100-Amp panel is typically inadequate for most San Diego homes, so many of our customers have upgraded to a 200-Amp panel, which is the standard in modern home construction.
If you’re not sure what type of system you need, an electrician from Ms. Sparky can do a load calculation to ensure that there will be no overloads on the new system. We can also pull all of the necessary permits and coordinate with SDG&E and the appropriate city departments for your electrical panel upgrade.
Often, adding a single circuit or two is adequate and can typically be installed to the existing service without a total upgrade. When a total electrical panel upgrade is necessary, we always install a solar-rated panel that will be able to accommodate solar panels, should you choose to install them in the future.
